Buffo's debut record is simply brilliant and lacks any comparison to their live show. It is new to the world of music and is about to set the standards. Recorded in March of 98 in Austin, TX., "Confused Hair" brings the listener into Buffo's world; a conversation between two off-balanced souls, screeching-garagy guitars, jazzy-"nutso" drumming, a collage of angry voice mail messages, and an ear piercing Casio. Roll all of this together and you have one beautiful mess.
To describe their live shows in detail would take up too much space and cannot be captured with words. Different is the key word here. A Buffo show changes from night to night depending on the mood they are in and where they are. They take the atmosphere, make it their own and leave audiences bewildered, confused and amazed. A chaotic, barrage of noise topped with stage antics that would make any clinically insane person look like a joke.
