Combustible Edison: Miss Lily Banquette; Brother Cleve, Michael "Laughing
Boy" Connors, Nicholas Cudahy, The Millionaire. Additional personnel: John
Vaillancourt (flute, saxophone); Jerry Sabatini (trumpet). Recorded at
Soundstation Seven, Providence, Rhode Island in April-May 1998. Like most
music biz fads, the lounge craze has had it's up and down side(s). One happy
development, however, is the continued durability of Combustible Edison, the
most talented and "serious" of the retro-outfits the movement has spawned. If
one doesn't count CE's excellent score for the less-than-excellent Madonna/
Tarantino vehicle FOUR ROOMS, THE IMPOSSIBLE WORLD qualifies as
